kel-tec p3at
« on: June 09, 2009, 02:48:18 PM »
I put 31 rds of  winchester  usa  white box threw my new p3at.  So far it has been flawless. Very accurate,   much easier to shoot with the short grip then I thought it  would be.

What I dont understand is the spent brass upon inspection is no longer round at the mouth. One side has a flat  spot ???    What would cause this ?   Gun has worked perfectly in this afternoons short test but I am not sure what to make of the brass ?  There is a crease on the outside of the brass almost  half the length of the brass from the mouth to almost center pushing the brass inward making a flat side ??

i have not had this problem with mine or my wife's... mainly cause i have a net to catch my brass
after it puts them into orbit.....sometimes 20'

do you think it could be from hitting the ground, floor, concrete or whatever???

only issue i have with mine is, poi is about 8-10" above poa, consistantly freehanded...
maybe its just me, i dunno!!!!!!. my wifes is very close to poa freehanded @ 20'

best thing is, at least its not walking or major windage changes.

i can live with high results, i'll just aim at the stomach area. if needed!!!!!!!!!!!!
thats still in the center of mass..

look down a few threads were i asked about fluff & buff.... try that, could be your fix.....
let's hope!!!!!!!!

if not, send her back!!!!!!! lifetime warranty!!!!!!!!!!!

That's where the hot brass landed and deformed. No problem at all.

Others have  suggested it is from the extractor. Which I think it is.  Gun Works fine just appears to have an extractor on  steroids. it Does throw brass quite a distence .

What a nice lightweight gun. I like it !!

I put 50 rounds thru my new P3AT the other day.  No ftf/fte, so I was pleased.   I plan on keeping the feed ramp polished and running a few more rounds thru it asap.
