Holster for Ruger Mark II 22/45?

Just bought a used Stainless Target 5 1/2" barrel 22/45.  I would like a belt holster for it and wonder what others might use.  This will be carried a lot in the woods.

I got a used one in good shape with 3 magazines for $205 plus tax.  I thought that was good!  Looks like it has not been cleaned...maybe ever...but I will fix that as soon as I can get it on my NY pistol permit.

You just bought a great pistol! If you didn't get the owner's manual with it, it's available on-line. I'd go there and read it, and maybe print if off if you want. Pay special attention to the assembly/disassembly instructions. They are simple to follow, but still some people have difficulty with them. Go figure! For woods carry, the best deal going is a military flap holster. Inexpensive, and really protects the gun. Good shooting!

Go on the Ruger Website and in the store they sell holsters for all of their handguns at reasonable prices.  They are leather with the logo on them for under $50 or so.  www.ruger.com
Other than that there is Uncle Mikes website, Galco, Bianchi, and the whole plastic snap type like Fobus.

Ruger says none of their holsters fit the 22/45 style...only the Mark II/III with the more angled grip.

Simply rugged will be great if you want leather.  If you want a flap holster out of padded nylon with an extra clip holder go with battlecloth.  sorry I don't have a photo  I've been happy with my battlecloth as a woods carry holster particularly when small game hunting with the .22 as a compaion to a 20ga

I use an Uncle Mike's cordura holster for mine.  It was originally one of my 1911 holsters!  So I'd recommend looking at 1911 holsters and try them out until you find one you like!

I'd like to find another simply for the snap arrangement.  My current holster has a single strap that comes all the way from the back and goes over the backstrap of the 22/45 and snaps on the front of the holster.  I'd like something like a two piece design that I could unsnap with my thumb instead.

That was an EXCELLENT deal btw!  I paid $190 + transfer fee for mine back in 2001 with only two mags.  If I could find another for around $200, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!  My son needs one!

Been looking for a holster for my scoped mark 2 for years, fox river made one,but no longer.

I use a cheap knock off flap holster that I got at an Army Surplus store for $4. I have a MK III 5.5 bull, it seemed to drop into the holster to deep so I used dental floss to sew the outline of the barrel and trigger gaurd making it more form fitting and the pistol rides higher for an easier grip.
