Well, I'm kind of new to black powder cannon, but finally got everything together to build a  carriage for the one I got.  Now comes the part were I want to start making the projectile's. What do you all suggest to use, I have a  mold so I can cast my own, and it's golfball size.

What are the dimensions of your barrel, particularly bore size, and wall thickness over the area where the powder will be.  Also, of what material is it made?

3/16" steel liner with a 2 1/4" bore diameter  Diameter is 5 1/2" at the breech, 4 1/2" at the muzzle

WELCOME to the board!

I make the bore size to fit the easy to procure ammo.

Mine are in 3/4" copper tubing size (about 90 cal)
1" is common in everything.
1.70 golf ball bore
67.5mm (OLD beer can , current soup can)
New beer can.
16-20-24oz soda pop bottle bore
and 4" pvc pipe (4.55" bore)

cans/tubing full of concrete is cheap.

For a 2 1/4" bore that might be a bit undersized.  Also for a 2 1/4" bore you might consider casting ball out of zinc... for that you will need a steel mold.

2 1/4 inch bore would call for a 6 and 3/4 inch breech diameter to be within safety quidlines.

Unless, of course, there was a powder chamber.
