Harry Potter 6?
« on: July 06, 2009, 11:07:55 AM »
Are you a Harry Potter fan, and are you going to see the new movie?

I loved the books. I loved the movies. I don't read many novels that don't involve reloading or target shooting, and I watch even fewer movies. But these have always struck a chord with me. I really enjoy them.

I love them!  I read all of the books as they came out.  They make for a great family movie night.  Matt, I and the boys all enjoy them...even the baby likes to see them fly around.

Yep. I ask for the movie DVDs for birthday presents after the price comes down. I just got the 5th one this year. Our copies of the books are all falling apart because they've been read so many times. My daughter is re-reading the entire series in preparation for the new movie. She's reading the 6th book now.  I only own one other movie that is not a hunting/fishing/shooting how-to book, and that's Bell, Book, and Candle with Kim Novak and Jimmy Stewart.

I'm planning on getting the director's box set once all the movies come out. Loved the books and I'm not ashamed as a grown man to to take a date to the movies. Sometimes even get a second date :D

Harry Potter movies are so much better in the theater than on DVD.  The special affects are at their best on a big screen.  I'll go see it.  Of course I go to the mid day showing, less of a crowd and lower price.

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Just read a news report, about the actor that played the bad kid in the movies.(sorry, never seen a Potter movie, and have no desire to)He is a 19 year old round faced boy out of London. (can't remember his name) But got busted for growing over 10 pot plants in his mothers home. And he had $3,000 of pot in a bag on his person. Questor, are you sure when your watching one of those movies, that when their flying around on broomsticks, that there is any special effects involved?? Just wondering. gypsyman

That's very unfortunate. Fame does terrible things to some people. Others handle it very well.

Seen a few of the movies and enjoyed them. The lady who wrote the books is an amazing story though. Wasn't to many years ago she was living in her car. Now she is one of the richest people out there. That is what I heard at any rate.

My family has not and will not watch or read Harry Potter books or movies.  We won't support the de-sensitization of society to witches, warlocks, black-magic or any other demonic influence.  I have noticed on the previews that are forced upon us at the movies that they seem to have gotten much blacker and darker with more evil in them.  Imagine that...  We don't watch any of the magic or witch shows on tv either.  Just our decision.
