Harvest ticket for Black Bear
« on: July 18, 2009, 07:47:49 AM »
Everyone knows they now need a Harvest report tag for Black Bear now.  This is new this year.  No more just shooting three and going home.  If one wanders into camp remember if no tag you can't shoot it.  If you do you have to turn it in.  Tags are free you just have to get them when you get your Moose and Caribou tags.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Rog,

Good point. I sat on the stand a couple of days without a harvest tag, good thing I didn't see one.

I came by your house yesterday, no one was home. I'll try again later.

thanks for the reminder.  I forgot about this and I'm hearing of people seeing black bears around here this summer. This used to be brown bear ONLY country. I saw one several years ago at a distance and thought it was a wet dark brown bear.  Was looking for caribou so didn't bother getting closer. Then a friend dropped by and said he'd floated down to it and it was a nice black bear. He let it go too as he was looking for something better to eat than a black bear scavenging salmon carcasses.
