Casca1,

Here is a drawing of muzzleloading artillery implements with their names given. What you referred to as a corkscrew is known as the worm, (wormer) and I think by "damber" you might be referring to the sponge.

RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

Blaster Bob, I'm sorry, I thought you were kidding around; as far as I know there is no cannon tool called a damber. I think Casca1 may have meant damper, which he might have meant (two large assumptions on my part) to describe the sponge.

You would need a "sponge" on your list, and since I don't see what, I assume that is a "damber".

What is the bore diameter?
