Tribute to Blue
« on: February 25, 2011, 08:15:38 AM »
He wasnt a 'hunting dog' but he was a hunter; a pretty 'wolfy' Siberian Husky that I had for just shy of 13yrs.
He came home with my wife when he was 5wks old and had the brightest deep blue eyes Ive ever seen. He grew up here in rural SC Wisconsin with a free spirit and a desire to be the alpha male, so I had to wrestle him down and 'bite his nose' (figuratively, with my hand while 'eye to eye' a few times), but we were the pack and it was good.
He saved my life when I wanted to give up.
He died in my arms last Fri. afternoon, his body shutting down............
We buried him out back under a big old Burr Oak he used to chase squirrels up.
I know you guys understand.

Yes i understand that. Lost my Rott 2 years ago. She went every where with me. Still miss her. Vet said she had a massive heart attack. She was only 5 years old.

We've had many dogs, cats, horses, etc. over the years, and that is always the hardest part.  Sometimes I wish I didn't have any critters, but we got two new dogs since last summer.  So, I guess if I'm gonna be dumb, I gotta be tough.  Our hearts go out to you.  We know how hard it is to loose a buddy.
