Velocitor ?
« on: July 04, 2009, 07:16:22 AM »
Has anyone shot any thing with Velocitors? I have shot plastic jug, and soda can full of water. I keep my 10/22 load with them, but have found out the hard way critters ain't plastic jugs.

They are patterned after the Gold Dot.

Very good terminal performance.  They've got the speed, the weight, and the expansion.

However, I tend to believe they are overpriced and that there are plenty of other .22LR rounds out there capable of killing critters just as dead.

I for one love them and so does my 10/22. There are other rounds out there that will kill, hell any 22 will kill but try some in you own 22 to see. I found that when shooting a porkypine the difference was large. Try shooting steel spinners or a steel plate and listen to the difference between the Velocitor and any other round. After that you'll know why the Velocitor is king for kill power in a .22 that likes it.

I leave my 10/22 mag full of them and use the cheaper suff for plinkin, the only thing I have shot with them is over ripe produce and cann full of water. I was real disappointed with Quick Shock. They really blow up milk jugs but proved poor killer on the only thing life I shot. It took 3 shots on a feral cat.
If Velocitors will kill a Porcupine the will kill a 'possum!
thanks,
Jerry

;) This spring I shot several  boxes at ground squirrels. They did a fine job, but to me the yellowjacet, stinger, etc. were just as deadly and maybe a bit more explosive. ;)
