Rossi 7mm-08

Has anyone tried a Rossi 7mm-08?  It isn't shown in the Rossi catalog but is available at a local store.

Had a 308 not 7mm-08 it was a shooter but the recoil was brutal

honestly have never saw the purpose of the 7mm-08.
Doesn't really fill any niche any better than the 308.

I've got a Handi in 7-08. It shoots great and recoil is light. It ain't a Rossi but you get the idea. :-\

I have the 7-08 in the Rossi, great shooter but recoil is tough for my 10 yr old son. It came with 20 ga and 22lr barrel.Thinking of trading the 7-08 for a 223 or maybe a 243, the 7mm08 same  as I shoot in my encore,kicks him hard.I love the cartridge, it really pops a whitetail.

I allows a heavier bullet than a .243 with a better BC and SD than the same bullet weight in .308.  Makes for a lighter recoiling rifle effective at longer range.  Similar benefits as the .260 Remington and alot more useful that many of the other thousands of wildcats out there.
