Wild Dog, Dingo, Fox, and Feral Cat Hunting - Current Status
« on: August 07, 2009, 07:43:14 AM »
Greetings folks. I am new to this forum.

I am an expat Aussie living in Missouri, just getting into coyote hunting. I am also an avid reader and researcher of all things to do with the wild dog/dingo problem in Queensland and other states.

I have been in touch with a wild dog researcher in Toowoomba and he has brought me up to speed about the biology similarities of coyotes and wild dogs/dingos. The similarities are so in-bred that wild dogs and dingos respond to electronic callers that have uniquely U.S. animals in distress.

Has anyone shot for the bounty in Queensland, Victoria or else where?

Are you calling, stalking, or spot lighting etc?

Gday mate.
i live in longreach qld, and there have been pretty bad dog problems from stonehenge south. i have hunted along the dog-proof fence and it's quite a joke (albeit - very old). full of holes or just torn/fallen down in a lot of plecs.
i haven't shot any yet, but if i do it'll be scalped and the skin off the back in no time - $100 bounty here at the moment.
cheers - brian

GDay mate , check out this link http://www.tomvarneyfoxshooting.com/ , Tom Varney is a very well known wild dog hunter and I'm sure you will find all the info you need from the website or in his video's .

The  Cocky's  and government authorities are taking no prisoners just now with wild Dogs , buggers are dropping 1080 all over the place , awefull stuff - sure it knocks over many of the wild dogs but it kills indescrimatly all down the food chain . Trouble is in many area's it is the most effective means of control
