Lookee what followed me home.....

...well not really.  Bought a 10/22, plain birch stock used for $140.  Went over about 20 configurations in my head, bull barrel, wood stock, plastic stock, carbon fiber barrel, timney trigger, clark trigger, standard walnut stock, factory taper barrel......you know how it is.

Then I went to the ruger site, thinking that maybe I'd just sell it and buy a ruger target model new.

And then.......I see this and fell in love with it.  French walnut stock, schnaubel fore end, roll over cheek piece, fancy checkering and best yet...a 20" barrel!  Still need to replace the trigger, but, I'm soo good!

Wow!!!!  Pretty nice.  I agree, I've never shot a Ruger with a good stock trigger (except for an '80s model single six).  Other than that, I love them.

Congrats. That is one good looking 10/22. I have an old 10/22 for which I've only made 2 modifications:1) Replaced the walnut stock w/barrel band with a Hogue synthetic stock and 2) Replaced factory trigger with a Volquarsten complete trigger unit. I never thought I'd spend that kind of money on a replacement trigger, since the trigger unit cost more than the rifle. However, I had a bunch of Cabela's points saved up, so it did not cost me much out of pocket. I wish I had replaced the factory trigger a long time ago. What a difference it's made!

Yep...I hear ya Ret!

I'll be sending this one out for accurizing in a few weeks!   Going to use Conn Precision Chambering for the work at the suggestion of GB member Dinni.  I'll get the whole shabang for less than the cost of the Vorq complete trigger.
