I am glad to hear they stopped using it. I guess I will have to go shoot this 1/2 brick that I have put away for terrorists and go buy a fresh one without the sealant.
As mentioned earlier, yes the wolf IS extrememy hot. If you have a 7.62x39 barrel for Contender....this is NOT considered to be a safe chambering for Contender. Some people make them, but you should be hand-loading it to acceptable levels for your gun, the WOLF would definately be TOO HOT, as would most factory loads.
The Wolf 223 ammo, frequently pops out the firing pin dent, but does not flatten the primers, it is right on the edge of terminal...It is hard on Contenders, especially if it is the stuff with the red sealant around
the neck. It will wear out your extractor very fast from having to FORCE it to eject. The extactors on Contenders are very weak, however, they are fairly easy to replace, but sometimes require a little tweaking to get a new one to work properly.
On the other hand, both the 223 and 7.62 Wolf work wonderful in my semi-autos, some people complain about it being 'dirty', but it is great stuff to stock up on the hollow points....I have NO DOUBT whatsoever that these little babies will put a Coyote or a terrorist down really fast.
