.22 lr Bersa
« on: February 23, 2009, 10:19:12 AM »
Bout a year and a half ago I got a good deal on a .22lr Bersa in stainless for $65. The fella that bought it had no use for it and it was like new. I enjoy shooting with it. I've never heard anyone else talk about them, are they rare or does no one like them. Any of yall got one? How do you like it? Here's a pic.

They seem to be a good value for the money.  Based on the Walther Pk/Astra guns, it is a good functioning, decent shooting gun.  Some people are put off that is it not as nicely finished as the Walthers, but it's only half the price also.  I forget which magazine, but I read a very flattering article on the Bersa .380 just last week.  44 Man

Can't comment on the Bersa .22.  But I have a Bersa Thunder .380 that I think is a great value and a very reliable and accurate pistol. I'd like to have a .22 but if I got one for 65 bucks I'd feel like i stole it.
Enjoy it!

I have had one of the 22 BERSA pistols for going on 18 years or somesuch. It has nearly 20,000 rounds through it at last count and has never malfed a round; no jams, no stopages, no nothing.
The pistol is accurate enough to pick off blackbirds out to 35 yards or so and that is good enough for me.

My wife has one.  I don't know how many thousand rounds she's put through it, but it's up there.  It's 100% reliable only with CCI min mags, but runs like a Swiss watch with them.  It was her first concealed carry gun, and would have served her well had she ever needed it.  Ten rounds of CCI mini mag would have spoiled anyone's day.  More importantly she had confidence in it, and in her ability to shoot it well.  She learned to shoot with that little gun..to clean it..to carry it..when to shoot and more important again, when not to.  She's moved up to a Glock 19 now, but the Bersa goes along to the range a lot even now.

About the only "knock" I can think of is, spare magazines are hard to find, and expensive.  At least they were.
