FA customer service, two thumbs up
« on: September 12, 2009, 04:29:53 PM »
soooo.......in a nutshell, i have two sons at the age of using their first big bore pistols.  sold a bfr 475 (nice gun) and ordered a 7.5" M 83 454 casull so we'd all have the same calibers for reloading purposes.  plus i think the 454 is the best in the FA anyways.  that said, i got mine in and to be honest i wasn't as impressed with cylinder "tightness" as i had been on previous FA guns i've had.  my 10" is phenomenal.  i called FA and was told to send in the gun for them to look it over.  keep in mind, this wasn't a "loose" gun by any stretch but just not quite what i had in my others.  still didn't rattle if you shook it.  well, in less than 7 days i got a call saying it was done and on the way.  not sure how they did it but they tightened up the cylinder and it's like a vault at a swiss bank.  awesome gun and awesome customer service.  thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
a gun owner that votes dem is an oxymoron with the emphasis on moron.

that's really surprising to me as far a the cylinder "tightness" not being up to spec. That said I am glad for you that they fixed the problem. When you mention tightness...are you referring to the "play" ,if any, in the cylinder when turned back and forth by hand...or the actual "gap" between the cylinder and frame? I hope my post isn't confusing...I think I just confused myself...please disregard this post if it's confusing :D
