my .45-70 is ready ...
« on: July 26, 2009, 12:53:43 PM »
... for deer season.
williams wgrs threaded hole (peep will stay in my gun box), set one full imaginary mark south of the last actual mark; remington 300-grain factory ammo cutting a 1.25-inch cloverleaf at point of aim, 70 yards in the woods, factory front sight.
i'm thinking it will do.  ::)

If you get a shot this coming season......and I hope you will.....It'll take him down.  I took my buck last season with 325 gr. Hornady LeverEvolutions at 2050 fps (according to Hornady) out of my Handi.  Bang Flop.  Your .45-70 will work well.  Enjoy.  Good hunting.

Pete

i may try the the hornady lever rounds just for fun. love the handis. may have to snatch up a .30-30, too. i've had a bunch of handis over the years. thinkin' the .45-70 and .30-30 are my favorites ...
