North Star West gun kit ?
« on: September 08, 2003, 07:24:38 PM »
Hello was wondering has anyone built or know of someone who has used one of these kits. How did it go together and what did you think of it? Iam going to order the trade gun in 62 cal. smothbore (20ga.). the guy who has the shop now was very friendly he did not try to get me to order a finished gun like most of the others I talked to. I  hope someone out there will leave me some feed back or even if you have a gun that was done by north west let me know what you think of it. thanks again.

If it's from that feller out of Montana,,a freind of mine did a kit from him just this past spring,,,he sung praises up and down an all about thet gun.!

Indian Trade Gun,,the one with the serpent? That's the one.

Now ya gotta know my freind! He does lot's of kit gun's,it's hobby/pastime of his,he likes ta buy/sell/trade/barter alot,,so he has plenty of experiance, he had it assembled and finished and shooting X inside two week's of getting it.

If I remember proper,he waited 6 week's for delivery.(that became 7), But communication through-out the process was great! High marks! For the feller from Montana.

best wishes,

:D Bowfish.

Don't know about the kit but I do have one of curly's guns. It was made for my father around 74 or 75. If they have even half the quality that curly put into his, it should be a darn good gun..

I don't know for sure how those guns stack up, but I had one of curleys trade guns and loved it alot, it was in 20ga., and light as a feather, although it was never in the woods after deer, it took its share or bunnies and tree rats, the rumor was that it was one of a dozen or so guns he made that shot curley ashes in the mountains, still wish he was around.

I have a NW Trade gun that I put together last spring. It is very good with shot in it but I haven't found the right combination for roundball yet. But it sure is fun trying the different combinations.
