Stevens Mdl 62

Anybody got a Stevens .22lr MDL 62?

I was at the Sportsmans club shooting my SLR101...Mosin M44...and Marlin 39D.

A fellow member was there with a Stevens Mdl 62....synthetic stock...4X32 K-Mart scope.

Said it jammed on him....told me $60 and its mine.

So I bought it...very accurate little gun when it works....can go through a clip or two without problems....then it will jam or fail to feed.

I think its the mag....seems as if the bullet guide is built into the mag and not the gun.

I'm gonna polish it and see what happens....anybody else try this or have one?

I don't have one, but given the inconsistancy, I would be looking harder at the magazine latching (either the gun half or the mag half) - which would govern the position of the mag, ergo controling feeding, after the mag is fully seated.

Plastic and/or sheet metal parts are good for worn spots, & getting bent, from slapping the mag home, etc, etc, etc.
