I'm certainly going to install these all over my house very soon.  I'm sure the local fire department would just love the idea.

Personally I kinda like the "sundial cannons"... go boom at noon.

Interesting concept, every house should have one! Actually, two, one inside to alert heavy sleepers, and one outside to let the neighborhood know! BoomLover

I've never seen this kind of explosive fire alarm (really not a bad idea, after all, the house is already on fire) before, but looking at it brought to mind this episode of the PBS series "History Detectives" that I watched recently. I had never heard of this kind of cadaver collecting taking place in America before, either; it kind of brings to mind Edgar Allan Poe, or some of those old British Hammer Studio horror flicks.
BTW, the investigator ends up at the Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois, and you can spot some ordnance in the backround.   

After opening the site, it takes a few seconds for the video to start.

RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

Thanks, yes I did see that episode recently, strangely enough, since I havent' seen that many of the HD shows.  I'll be looking for one of those graverobber alarms now.
