Shot the gun and luck came my way. I sighted in and had three shots left to check my group. I will post a pic as soon as I find some batteries for the camera. 3/4 inch group with 50gr v-max on top of 24 gr. 10x.

I think that group is alot smaller than 3/4".

I agree TY, that group look less than a half inch. When measuring groups many fols don't subtract the diamiter of the bullet from the outside spread to get the true group size.

Shots were fired at 100 yards. I shot it again yesterday just to make sure and sure enough it printed a copy of the previous day.

Unfortunately, my new 223 Handi Rifle only does 1.2 to 2 inches at 100 yards. While trying to learn about improving the accuracy I found lots of posts about things to do to the fore end, including the rubber washer trick. So I got to looking at my rifle with the stock off, and I noticed that the bottom of the fore end mounting lug is not square to the barrel. I would think this is just a defect, except it seems like it would be parallel with the bottom of the fore end which slopes down to the reciever. The other thing is that the hole in the stock is a little off of center with the hole in the lug. The countersink is generous enough that the screw head slides down into it, exerting pressure on the fore end towards the receiver. Again, it just seems wrong, but I wonder if it could be intentional, to seat the forened snugly against the receiver. Anyway, I put in the rubber washer tonight, I'll see what happens. The barrel still touches the fore end at both ends, but not as tightly.

What does the lug on yours look like ? Any comments, please ?
