223 ejector problem

I've got a 223 barrell that ejects sometimes and sometimes not. Same ammo.

Would the improvement tip in the faq fix this or do I have another problem.

I also have ejectors on different barrells that act differently, some sling em and some just ease them out for finger removal, is that normal.

Read the ejector info in the FAQs, you need to polish the chamber and tune the ejector, make sure the chamber and ammo is clean and dry.

Yes!  Some of H&R barrels were made with extractors and some with ejectors.  I changed my 45-70 from an ejector to an extractor per the instructions, so I could keep my brass on the bench.  My 30-30 I left as an ejector as I am more likely to be in the woods with that one.  I have not 'needed' a second shot quickly, but you never know.  44 Man

Thanks for the replies fellas, I will definitly do some work on the 223 and maybe even change the slingers to pickers to save the brass chasing.

Right now I have to keep a dental pick in my pocket to assist the 223 when it fails.
