What is "Full Red Jacket", DISC etc. ?

I'm getting the impression from some of the descriptions of 209 priming systems that one needs to keep a supply of some sort of primer sleeves around? Is that really the case?

Maybe someone could tell me what I don't quite get?

Are there inlines that don't need additiona manufactured items beyond powder, bullet and primers, or do they all revolve around sabots and plastic primer holders of some sort?

No, they are not all that way. T/C, CVA, Traditions, several of the newer Knights, all use a bare 209 primer and can shoot conical bulets without sabots.

Hmm... lots of options, LOL! Definitely have to acquire some version of one of these inlines. No doubt they'll be good for North American game at reasonable ranges.

I guess the only thing that sticks out to me is that the barrels are shorter than say Hawkens or Kentucky rifles, so the top velocity with non-sabot bullets, I'd expect to be less?

But seems to me, out to 100 yards, I should be good on anything up to deer given than .50 used to be used on buffalo.

Should be an interesting firearm, to be sure.
