Well when you said, "any snakes up there?" I thought you ment Montana.  Well I killed 2 so far this year, dang things were the same color as the range grass and rattlin away like crazy.  Neither one was strong enough to fight off rounds from my 10mm Auto.  ;D

I've gone to three of the five GBO PD Shoots so far and have not seen a rattlesnake yet other than those caught by the locals and brought over to Dan's place where we've always gathered at these events.

Even if another is held it sure is gonna seem odd not having Dan's barn to hold our evening gatherings in.  :'(

and I just finished loading up a bunch of snake rounds for my carry gun to take along this year. Oh well, I'll just save them and hope for a chance to spy the elusive PD in the future.

Why waste ammo , I have a old garden hoe in the back of the pickup to take care of rattle snakes . Chop their head off, gutem ,and skin them .Some folks will cook them, but not me.

I'm thinking they're a little less populated in the panhandle.
But just a short drive east and you're in rattlesnake meca.

I almost stepped on this one last year in South Dakota. It was curled up, and looked like a cow flop.

Backed off and whacked him with a .44spl birdshot load.

One of my friends wanted it to play a joke on another guy.

After that I think he made a belt.

Here is a pic of a rattler me and my buddy killed in Western Kansas last fall bowhunting antelopes.  It must be a record for prairie rattlers as it measured 43-1/2 ".  Had a bad attitude too!!

They must be in the same family as the "Copper headed water rattlers" and the Jawja basement snakes.
