357 loads out of rifle been chronygraphed
« on: August 07, 2009, 06:29:38 PM »
what have you guys been getting for a velocity range out a regular 357 magnum (not Max)158 gr load in your rossi rifles.Be it handloads or factory ammo.I would venture to guess 1800 to 2000 fps.

I am looking specifically for federal fusion loads,if anyone has chrony'd these loads please let me know, federals website claims they are at 1240 fps but they dont say how long the test barrel is. I know they kick like hell out of my 4 inch rossi.thanks in advance. ;)

I hope this helps. I am getting 2041 out of a Rosse 92 with 16 inch barrell with my 158 gr hand load. Powder is Lil'Gun just under max. This load is the best in my Handi and I may cut it down a little for the Rosse to tighten up the holes on paper. This is my hunting load.
