I normally shoot 405gr. cast with 31gr. H4198 or 25gr 2400. Today I shot some with 41gr. H4198 and they kicked the snot outa me. By the book, they should have been running around 1750-1800fps but I don't have a chrono. The bullets were about the cheapest I could find but they shot consistent. They're 405gr, .459 from Missouri Bullet. Glenn Fryxell (lasc.us) was right. Size it right and it won't lead. Barrel was shiny clean when I finished.
My eyes are old and don't work so well anymore. The result is that I don't shoot so well. But, you know, pulling that trigger and hearing it go bang is therapeutic, regardless of the accuracy.
