Handi in .223

I just got one in synthetic stock.  Do you guys who shoot these accurately use a bipod?  I put my Harris on and the forestock is able to twist all over the place.  I free floated the barrel across the front of the forestock.  Do you bed your forestocks or do you chose not to use bipods and just bag it close the trigger guard.  Any help is appreciated as currently it shoots all over the place.  I've already downloaded some pages to work the trigger and what not....the trigger I can deal with....but the gun jumping all over the place when shot is keeping me down a bit.

Just as a forethought....I shoot very tight groups with my CZ trainer in 22lr and my Savage 93 WMR.  I'm still not sure about the scope that's on the Handi...it came with it and is a Bushnell Banner 4-12x40.  It's still a possible variable for now but I know it doesn't move around on the gun so I'm looking for other excuses as to why it shoots so wild.

I've never had any luck with a bi-pod on any of my Handi's , even the Ultra Varmint that has a forarm designed to use one .

Some have had great results with them but not me , for the most part I just bag them on the nose of the forarm and work up loads that will shoot that way .

The movement is also another reason most of mine wear wood and not Tupperwear .

I use a light weight bipod on my 22 Hornet. I did trim the forearm and put a small foam pad under the tip of the forearm where the barrel touches, also trimmed the forearm so it was not touching the action. Also put the nylon washer around the forearm lug. The other item I have heard about in the forum is making sure there is zero oil on all the surfaces where the barrel and action meet up. I guess it kills accuracy if present.

When we use the bipod, we wrap our non-trigger hand around the front of the trigger guard. Seems to work just fine for us. It took a little doing for us the stop grabbing the forearm.

Thanks for the replies.  I've been keeping my hands off the forearm and placing them like stated above.  After some reading I'm considering silicone bedding the rear half of the forearm....and even considering mounting  sling stud on the rear half before bedding.  Before anything I'll try shooting again with a bag just in front of the trigger to see if I can get it to group a little better with off the shelf ammo.
