Legend of the Legend....
« on: August 15, 2009, 01:33:27 AM »
In 1993 In bought a new Acura Legend nicely decked out,,,very good car. Although, it had low mileage on it I eventually gave it to my son who racked up some miles and banged it up a little. Then he bought another car and the Legend came back to me to store as his backup car. Well, I didn't want it hanging around too long so I sold it to some guy who just stopped and asked if it was for sale. He gave me $500 (good deal for him all things considered) and I gave him the title and keys, and he said he would be back to pick up that night. 3 weeks latter he has not come back to p/u the car. Nope, I didn't get his phone number thinking this was a clean and fast deal given the cash exchange.

Question is what to do next, and legally to make this car disappear....?

callthe dmv and explain your situation and maybe they can look up and see if he has changed the title over into his name. if he has maybe yu can get contact info.if he hasnt done anything with the title id just file for a lost title, get it and resell it.if he eventually shows just give him his money back if he wants to give yu back the title you gave him.i would wait another week or so before i did anything just to see if he shows.waiting a month when he said he would be back that night is more than enuf time id say.

Might can class it as abondoned or charge the $500 as a storage fee to get it titled back if need be.

Heck I bet some muslims could do away with it for you.

options .. store it out behind thed shed..after six months send for a new title..
you may find the title could be being used on another car...if that can be done...
its good chance you man is either in the ground or had a stroke or something..
if you really want to find him ,,put an add in the paper sayin storage fee s will be charged...
then watch for the scams to come around..makum let you talk to the fella or something.
im living in a house right now ,,rented to me by a fella that it turns out,,was just suppose to watch the place ... grandma moved up to live with her kids in maryland.. turns out the last year of her life she made all kinda efforts to contact him..he wouldn t call her even to lie to her..it takes all kinds in this world ..this boy aint even her grandson..thats a blessing i guess....anyway , the estate executor is sending me a lease at this time in the mail ..i guess.. slim
