What a hoot!!

Last evening I helped (along with two other adults) 28 kids from the local Youth For Christ group shoot longbows and recurves for about an hour and a half.  We had flu-flu arrows with which the kids could shoot at a castle, storming it to see who could get the arrows into the castle.  There were also 3-D targets set up for close shooting.  Most of the 7th and 8th graders had not shot bows before, let along traditional bows.  It was an absolute hoot of a good time!  There were many expressions of 'I want to shoot a bow more...I want to ask dad if I can have a bow to shoot in the back yard...this is rad...etc.'  I even found out that 'Cool!' is still an acceptable term for their age group.  Pretty cool!!   

Take a kid to the bow range, even to the back yard: it will be a hoot.

That is awesome, I can't wait for our MT Youth Bowhunter Camp to start.
