Something I have had for years. Need current information.

I bought this many years ago, fired it maybe six times with the current barrel and stuck it away in my gun cabinet. The two barrels (4" and 8") are new in the boxes. Their still wrapped in the original paper. I have never used them. It is a beautiful thing!! Can anyone shed some light on what it is worth?

If someone can help me with this, I'll tell you what I paid for it about 20 years ago. (It'll break your heart...)

I'd like to know too.  I have one just like it but only have the 4" and 6" barrels.  Had mine 25 or 30 yrs.

I presume that is a 44?  The 4" barrel is worth $130+ and the 8" has gone for over $200 on auction sites.  The gun alone would go for $600+ on any auction site.  The 357mag would be a few dollars less.  Pristine sets like that are becoming very rare, since anyone who shoots one, usually wants to shoot it alot more.

My brother inlaw had a friend who was in financial trouble and had two items for sale. One was an HK 91. 1976 Pre-ban A2. Has SACO arms stamped on it. (ORIGINAL) I paid $600 dollars for it. He had this Dan Wesson, never fired, with the extra barrels (4 & 8 inch in boxes).
I paid $200 dollars for that...
He said the .44 was never fired, and it looked like it. Still had the plastic insert in it. I have kept it pristine, clean it every once in a while just to keep the action good.
I remember firing it. Didn't even kick! It weighs a lot, but .44 cal is a heavy round. I remember firing it only made my ears ring, but didn't kick like lighter .44's.

I think I made a good purchase, for sure. At the time it was a lot. I was young... My brother inlaw keeps saying he should have bought it.

I hate to let it sit. I don't know what to do with it. It is beautiful, but don't shoot much anymore. I'll probably put it back in the gun cabinet for another twenty years.
I have to say it is a beautiful piece of workmanship, that is for sure.

$200 was a steal even 20 years ago.  It sure is a beauty and if you decide to part with it, you'll certainly get an excellent return on your investment.

Your first post is interesting in that you stated it will break our hearts when we hear what you paid. That to me indicates you knew it's current value, but wanted a pat on the back or you are hoping someone will pm you with an offer. Either way no worries here. You have a nice piece and you got a super deal even 20 years ago. Too bad for the original owner. I'm sure he loved it.

Today markets are soft. If you don't need the money I'd hang on to it. The longer you wait the more it will be worth. The other posters here got it right. In today's market you should have no trouble getting over five times your money.

Honestly, I wasn't sure of its value. I recently checked the value of the HK and was surprised at what they were selling for. I didn't find many Wessons like this online, and only had seen a price in one of those Gun Price books at Sportsman Warehouse. So I found this site and figured I would ask the gun aficianados.
Believe me, I bought these sight unseen, on my brother inlaws advice. I was pleasantly surprised when he brought them to me and I saw the condition of the Wesson. I knew then I got something for very little.

So, I'm not fishing for a buyer. I don't need the money. Its nice to know what it is worth today. The way I look at it, what would I rather have? A thousand dollar bill in my hand, or this revolver. Their still making 1k bills...

Actually Dan Wesson was making revolvers long after they stopped printing $1000 bills in 1946. Given the choice I'd grab the 1000 dollar bill in a heartbeat. 

Looks like you have a fine specimen there.
