« on: September 27, 2003, 01:31:01 PM »

I had to go to loose powder to stop this. I was also able to find a more accurate load with a little bit more powder than 100 grains of pellets. I do really like T7 powder in ff.

using 777 here in pellet form and found something interesting yesterday the advertised power increase is as usual  hog wash two pellets of 50 grain 777 give a 300 xtp 1714 fps two pellets of 50 grain pyrodex give 1804 tested three times same gun same bullet and sabot just slower though very much cleaner!!! i'll take the slower pace for that but to your dilema i am shooting the shocwave by tc in 250 grain with two pellets of 777 and getting 3/4 inch group at 50 yards no fliers even at hundred its dead on my only concern is bullet expansion but we'll just have to wait and see i've heard that the muzzloader has tendancy to be inacurate for tc's quality control if its new and won't shoot maybe call them up who knows anyway thats what i use good luck

There is no promised velocity increase with pellets-- only with loose powder.

Do you have any side to side wiggle in the barrel with the action closed. If you do this can cause the flyers. You can contact Mike Bellm and get an oversized hinge pin and cure the problem. Just a thought.

I went to 100 grains of loose Pyrodew RG and freefloated the front stock using super glued stainless washers.I'm getting 1 1/2 inch 5 shot groups with the 240 grain XTP bullets. Thanks guys ,Mark
