Contender or R-55 for new squirrel gun

Lets hear the comparison guys.  How do they handle, accuracy, trigger, group sizes appreciated.  Thanks Kirby

I've got the R-55 medium heavy barrel/lam. stock.    Way more rounds per minute than the Contender.

I play hell getting an occasional 1/2 " group at 50 yards with it, even using various target grade ammo.

Nonetheless a darn nice .22 auto.

My old T/C 22 Classic did one 3/4" group today, but most were 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" with just a sandbag rest at the front. That was without a scope I might add.

I have a Barska 4x12x40 AO that I took off another rifle and will be mounting it on the T/C next week to see how I will like a scope on the rifle. I have a friend with one of the new R-55 Classic models, and a very nice Leupold that does 1/2" groups. His 60+ year old Mossberg target rifle however still beats it at the range, I've seen him do one hole 3 shot groups at 50 yards with that rifle. It may be ugggggly as sin, but as the saying goes it gets the job done.
