Look what I found hinding in my garden

correct name for this is a pink banana squash . We called them cushaws where I grew up. I never knew this one was there . I have several more 1/2 to 2/3rds this size cheap bathroom scale says 37-38 pounds. make the best "pumpkin pies" you ever ate. just for reference I'm 5'11" and #310

You take one of those cut it into 6 inch squares put in pot of cold water, bring to a boil, drain and let cool, stuff with butter,cinamon and brown sugar, wrap with aluminum foil, throw on grill with hamburgers and hot dogs to finish.  Have the whole neighborhood or a small scout troop over for Labor day picnic.  That squash will be rich tender and prime.  I do miss feeding all those kids with endless appetites since we moved.  Mostly we just feed some of the neighbors who are single, it's nice but healthy, well fed, sticky face kids are what picnics were made for.
