hornady flex tip
« on: August 18, 2009, 02:01:43 AM »
Has anyone tryed the 160 gr. flex tip bullet for the 30-30? I have a 30 remington pump model 14. I have been kicking around the idea of that bullet. Has anyone tryed it in the 30 remington? I hear good results reloading for the 30-30. It has not ben out long but it is a good idea. Any inputs will be appreciated!!

:D Zac, my shooting buddy loaded a bunch for his Marlin .30-30. He seems to like them, but so far no game has been taken with his reloads. :( ;)

Hornady has FTX data for common chamberings, you can send an inquiry and ask for data, they'll email it to you if they have it, I've received several FTX loads before they were published.  ;)

30-30 Winchester data can be used to load .30 Remington, according to several manuals I have read.

I have an old Remington 141 (only slightly different than the 14) in 35 Remington. My only suggestion would be to watch the OAL. You will have feed issues if they are loaded too long. My 141 just barely clears a RN bullet in a loaded round.
