Hello everyone,
Been reading many of the topics here. I am new to Encore shooting and have a question concerning the the forearm issue or non-issue. Shooting TC 300 win mag barrel, if the forearm and barrel are removed (to put on the 209x50) when the 300 barrel is put back into service should I expect the point of impact to change from the last time the barrel was on the gun? Does the disassembly and re-assembly of the gun affect the point of impact? Any clarification on this would be appreciated.

Changing or removing and replacing the barrel and forearm will not change point of impact because the sights are mounted on the barrel.

Thanks for the input fellows, your comments have cleared up the issue for me. My main concern was the forearm. All of my shooting is in hunting situations so any miniscual variances will not be noticed in the field.

I'm not sure if it would work on the encores but when my brother and I first started with the contenders we had more barrels than scopes. we had 4 barrels and two scopes between us. All barrels had the same scope mounts and were were able to switch any combination of scopes and barrels and rarely had to make a windage adjustment of more than 1/2" if at all. Elevation hange had to be made to accomodate the trajectory of the particular cartridge. I'm not sure if quality control would still allow this on the newer guns but it sure made it easy with the ones we had.
