Should I send it back?

I have a 7mm-08 encore barrel, 12" length.  Brand new.  On it I mounted a used 2-7X with lighted reticle thompson center scope.  The scope is mounted well, not loose or too tight.  I spent some time breaking in the barrel and sighting in the scope.  I can get about 3 foot groups at 100 yards while on the bench.  What I am trying to say is that it is shooting awful groups.  Two different people, two different types of ammo, and still getting 3 foot groups.  Has anyone else had these problems?  Is sending it back to the factory my best option?  Thanks for any input you can send my way.

Send it back.  I just sent my first one back out of the 15 or so that I have owned.  The lockings lugs were not right on it, but your problem could be something else since my bad accuracy was only about 5" at 100 yards.  T/C turned mine around in 2 weeks.  There is no reason to settle for bad accuracy.  I have had to many good barrels to accept a bad shooter.

My first 708 was messed up too. The chamber wasn't consentric with the bore and it didn't shoot very well. Sent it back and they gave me a new one that's much better.

Call T.C ahead and send a note along with the barrel telling them what the problem seems to be.  I had to send in my 7m-08 barrel and they sent me a new one within about 1 1/2 weeks.  The new barrel they sent me is a great shooter.

Pheww, sounds like wrong caliber barrel or wrong caliber bullets going done the barrel.  I have honestly seen barrels cut off with hacksaws, no crown for sure, shoot better than that!!!!!  Another T/C classic!!!  Good-luck...BCB

Thanks, I did call them today and they said to d o the exact same thing.  only I am going to send both the scope and the barrel so they can figure out which has the problem.  With a three foot group, it is probably both of them.

Hmmm, By the looks of it the kid that swept the floors must have filled in for the guy chambering the 7-08 barells for a while. :)
