My contender has a trigger pull over 4 lbs.  What would you recommend?

If it is a G2, it is similar to the Encore.  The original Contenders have easy to work on triggers.  There are two different trigger groups for the old contenders, center pin and front pin.  You can clip some of the coil spring to reduce the weight (1/4 turn at a time).  Trapper gun parts also makes replacement springs although I haven't used them.  You can get the kit from Natchez for around 5 or 6 $$.

Jim Henry is T-H-E Contender Mechanic of all smiths, including at the TC factory.   He'll complete tune your whole frame for $20, including the trigger to the weight you want.   Good guy too.   He's in Barstow, CA - and an FFL so no problem shipping direct to him and him back to you.   LMK if you want his contact info.
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus
