New Handi
« on: August 23, 2009, 09:47:28 AM »
I picked up a .357 Handi at the Roanoke Gun Show yesterday.

I have listen to all the praises about the .357 , so I had been on the lookout for one for some time.  This handi has a 2004 Ser# but looks to be brand new.  It has a 3-9X40 Simmons Blaser scope, which also looks new.  The guy only wanted $380.00 for it, so I just had to take it home with me.

I carried it to the Potts Mountain range this morning to check it out, the elevation is around 3000 feet with a nice cool wind.  I only had one box of 38 Sp. in 158 gr. with me but I had several holes touching at 100 yr. even with the stiff breeze.

It looks like I need some 357 Mag. brass and a much heavier bullet for this range.  All-in-all, I am very happy the way it shoots and the mild recoil.

Pete, you're gonna love it.  They're sweethearts.  Now, watchagottado is ream it to .357 Maximum.......then it'll be a dandy Handi.  Good luck with it, and many years of good shooting.

Even as a standard 357 Mag it is still a must have Handi , try some 180g cast bullets and watch what it will do .  ;D

The 357 is most definitely my most used Handi. I reamed it to 357 Max and that just adds to it versatility. I am sure you will like it too. I do not know if the $380 is a miss-type, but that sounds a little steep, even in the high priced area I live in. But - value is to the person buying the gun, not the arm chair type. As long as you are happy, then you did good. ;D

GOOD JOB!!!

Shot it and see what it can do.. sooner than later you'll be wanting to ream it to maxi. Once you do you will wonder what it took you so long!!!

Either Way, mag or maxi the 357 is a BIGTIME KEEPER!!!
