Hello the camp. I have a few C&B questions?

What do Y'all use for anti-seize on the nipples?
How about bees wax?
What did the old timers use?
So many questions...

I put one drop of oil on the threads only when I re-assemble the nipples to the cylinder. I've never had a problem as a result of this.

I use never sieze on my nipples on all my C&Bs and never have a problem with them freezing up and can always get them to come out when needed.
It doesn't take much on each one, so I apply with a lead pencil to the threads.

FFg, Howdy is correct about using graphite (molykote), but with dissimilar metal, the expansion coefficient due to heat is not the same. I use an anti-seize thread lubricant which is a powdered copper base substance. The name is VersaChem and guards against seizing to 2,000f.

I use a small amount applied with a pipe cleaner, it does not require much. I buy this compound from Auto Zone or NAPA and the like. It has never failed me.

The key to nipple maintance is the correct fitting nipple wrench. Buy a good one and not the CVA.
