Squirrel Hunting Books
« on: September 04, 2009, 04:11:15 PM »
Does anyone know of good books on squirrel hunting besides the ones by Bob Gooch.  It seems to me that there is enough interest in the subject to generate some.  Some years ago, I used to read a limited magazine on dog hunting for squirrels.  I would like to find some on still hunting.  The forums here are good reading but limited.

;) Over the years I have seen books on squirrel hunting, but it has been a long time ago. Francis Sell wrote a book Hunting Small Game, that covered squirrel hunting. He used the same basics as deer hunting if I remember. When I last hunted tree squirrel, his advice was excellent. Something else he touched on was hunting squirrel with centerfire rifles, reduced loads, and cast bullets. I never got to try that, but it was interesting. When I am looking over my lists of books I will watch for this subject. It is great pratice for deer hunting, although still hunting for deer seems to be pretty much a lost art in the east and maybe the south. Tree stands and bait seem standard there.   :( >:(
