Lapua Ammo in Mini-30

I have an older Mini-30 that I put a big muzzle brake on.  Almost a barrel weight.  Strangely enough I shot some 1.25" groups at 100 yards with Lapua fmj ammo.  

No other mods to ammo or gun except Hogue overmolded stock.  Anyone know what size bullet Lapua uses in this cartridge?  I can post a pic of the brake if anyone wants to see it.

With Lapua it's not so much the diameter of bullet as the quality of components and assembly that make it accurate.

Remember to look for your brass when you're done---that stuff is expensive.

GB is correct about the much higher quality of the components and the manufacture of Laupa ammunition compared with the usual run-of-the-mill sport ammo.

There is a long running dispute about Mini's using barrels that are meant to fire 308 or 311 bullets...has gone on forever.

Get that dial caliper out and check the bullet diameter before the curve starts towards the point!

Then make up some handloads with the same bullet diameter and give them a try.

Thanks.  I think I've loaded both diameters & found the .311s to be a bit better but I haven't shot the rifle much for a while.  I shot a deer with the 150 grain (.308) handloads but I found that bullet wasn't as accurate as the .311 123 grain ones I've tried.  Nothing shot as well as the Lapuas with the big brake,  and yup, the Laps are all gone.
