can't get the grip frame screws back in on single-six
« on: November 21, 2009, 06:20:05 PM »
I have a three screw, round load gate SS.  It was binding up so i took it apart and cleaned it.  now I can't get the two screws on the rear top of the grip frameto start back in. Just will not start in the holes.  Anybody know what the trick is?  thanks

If you've already tightened the other screws up, maybe the frame isn't exactly lined up and the remaining two screw holes are slightly askew.  Might try leaving all the screws loose until they are all in then tighten 'em up a little at a time.

I hate to ask this but do you have the mainspring "captured"?

And the posted advice to get all five screws started before tightening any of them is very important.
