I need help finding a replacement stock
« on: August 23, 2009, 05:45:31 AM »
I have a handi-rifle chambered in .243 SB2. It is a youth version with an extremely short stock. My son started out on this gun and has now grown to be a pretty big kid.  He has since moved on to a Browning A-bolt. This little rifle is just collecting dust and I'd like to get some use out of it. I need a full size stock for the thing, but dont know where to look.  It currently wears the black plastic furniture, which is fine. Where in the world can i find a proper stock. Just going to make a truck gun out of her to bust varmints and such.
Thanks for your time,
Chaos

Edited to add: Is it possible for me to safely fit a 44 mag barrel to this gun? I dont know much about them or if they even make 44 mag barrels.  I cast and roll my own and would redally get a ton of use out of this rig if it were in 44 mag......

Look right here in the classifieds.  There's always stocks in there and also on E-bay.

.44 barrels are often in the classifieds too.  If you roll your own, you can make even the old ones shoot well.  Fit the barrel yourself.  That's also in the FAQs.  If you need help, there's lots of it here.  Welcome, and good luck.

A few places sell new stocks too.  I'm pretty sure choate has them. But as mentioned it's hard to beat the classifieds here.  Some good deals and from what I've seen you can trust just about everyone here.  I bought a nice synthetic stock set awhile back.  It was an overall good experience.
