Win pre-war Model 70 standard in 257 Roberts value?
« on: September 21, 2009, 04:08:44 PM »
I ran across a correct 1941 Winchester Model 70 Standard rifle in 257 Roberts, but it has the rear bridge drilled and tapped for a more conventional mount.  What would something like this be worth?  Any collectible value, or just a shooter grade rifle at this point?  Thanks in advance.

I'm not up on such matters but I think it was quite collectible prior to the modification. Dunno how much collector interest would be left after that. I seem to recall reading the .257 is one of the more uncommon thus collectible ones but as I said I'm not really up on such matters.
