CVA 209/50 Cammo Nickel Mag hunter
« on: October 26, 2003, 02:12:39 PM »
Does nayone have experience with this rifle? I last hunted with a muzzleloader back in the 70's    when it was Zouave's, New England's and Kentucky's.   :)  :) :) I'm sure I don't have to explain much to the hunters from those days. I bought this rifle at Gander Mountain today and even though an Encore barrel would have served me better for resale value, I chose this one. I was considering the Knight but within the same price range, the Knight required these cheesy little plastic things to hold the 209 primer. Again, the Encore barrel would have set me back a few more dollars but I just hate to break mine down to switch barrels. I thought the Traditions was a little less quality than I wanted and the primer appeared to be more exposed. I plan to shoot this next week and was just fishing for some feedback on this gun. I heard that gas blow back can be a problem and that it can and has, damaged some scopes.  I plan to get some magnet sheeting to cover the bolt and nipple area for a rain shield. I hope this controls the blow back for the scope I plan to mount as well. Ok guys, anything you have is welcome.
