I am assuming that Encore barrels fit Encores and Contender barrels fit Contenders and never the twain shall meet.
In other words, you canot put a Contender barrel on an Encore frame.
Right?

I'm new to the encore, but that's not my understanding. The action for the rifle and pistol are actually the same- it's the stock and barrel that make a rifle or pistol. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong though

Nothing gets my attention faster than a posts suggesting it maybe a stupid question....kinda like a train wreck, you just have to look.

Nearly all Contender barrels can be made to fit nearly all Contender/G2 frames.

The only contender brl that will not fit a "conender" is the 209x45. The 209x45 is for the G2 frame only.

The rest of the contender brls fit the contender or the G2.

There are those who maintain real early frames have trouble with G2 barrels and newer frames have trouble with early barrels.  I have a real early frame that works well with all my barrels, and some real old barrels that work well with my G2 frames.  I did have to do some fitting of locking bolts, but they seem to work fine all around.

Also, one of the custom barrel makers makes a couple of barrels that only work on G2 frames.  I don't recall which one right now.  It is on their web page.

The silver color, like this one is Armor Alloy and it has the appearance of stainless. This is an AA frame (unmodified as it came from TC in 1984 I believe) with a new G2 barrel (2009) put on it. I didn't have to make any changes at all in either the frame/pin/barrel/locking bolts.
