Our season is usually very short here in Wyo. It is a standard joke, well maybe an axiom that you can count on some nasty weather right around the opening of dove season. It,s a good time though if you can get in a few days before they all fly south. I shoot a double 20 at them.

I think I'll use the Deluxe H&R my son got me for Christmas a few years ago.

Y'all be sure to keep those boxes your shells come in. You can carry your dove home in them too.

Rusty, that's about it....5 boxes of shells for 5 dove.  One opening day, outside of Jacksonville in the 60s, the season opened at noon, and we were sitting around eating sandwiches.  Nothing was flying yet...too early.  Suddenly a dove came over me from behind.  I jambed the sandwich in my mouth, grabbed my shotgun and dumped him.  It had to be my best dove shot ever.  I could tell a lot of Florida dove stories, but there's one common thing......toward evening, there's seldom a cool barrel.  Ifn yer lucky, ya might even have a couple of dove in the bag or shell boxes before dark. ;)
