I don't have any with the internal locks. I don't think they are a deal breaker either. Like the lock on my car door, I use it when I choose to. I disabled the auto lock feature, cause that was a problem for me.
Think this scenario over before you condemn all internal locks. Your wife legally carries here S&W all the time, as you have suggested she should. One day she finds herself at her girlfriends home visiting. The friends sister and her three kids show up. Your wife can grab the purse go into the bathroom and turn the lock reholster the weapon and easily add another layer of security to the situation. This is a real life situation that people encounter every day. How do you figure the stories of a three yr. old shooting someone with Grandmas gun occur? Little kids are attracted to purses, often encouraged to entertain themselves with the contents.
Oh but, ....There are always other options than an internal lock. A canon safe in every gym locker is an option, as is an armed security guard for every man woman and child in America. A person is free to choose what works for them, carrying a lock box in your purse ain't gonna happen and my wife carrying on her person all the time ain't gonna happen either. She thought the internal lock was a great idea, didn't like the revolver but thought the lock was a very smart idea.
