B92 Rossi .357 Range Session
« on: July 31, 2009, 02:00:12 PM »
I finally finished peeping my new 16" Big Loop .357 BrazTech/Rossi 92, with a Williams 5D-94AE peep meant for an angle-eject Winchester Model 94, and took it to my club to zero the peep.

I was able to successfully use the issue front sight, to which I added a dollop of white nail polish at the tip.

(the other M92 below is a twin, in .45 Colt)

After zeroing @ 25ys, I moved out to 50yds, and shot this group with factory ammo - Federal's American Eagle (red box) 158gr JSP's.

I peeled off the target center, took it home and was surprised to find it measured only 1 1/2" (center-to-center/widest shots), and not the 2 1/2" as I had first thought.  :o

I think it's ready.   :D

Very nice! I hope to soon have a Rossi 92 to go with my EMF 92, and then peep both of them.

You might not want to wait too long.

In December 2008, Rossi Firearms sold their 1892 rifle manufacturing to Taurus International.
Taurus has declined to continue manufacturing the Hartford 1892's for EMF; therefore, as the current inventory of EMF Hartford Model 1892's is depleted, various models will no longer be available.

Note: On the Rossi USA website, http://www.rossiusa.com there are NO lever action rifles listed, and at the Taurus website @ http://www.taurususa.com/  , if 'Rossi Rifles' is selected, you go back to the http://www.rossiusa.com website again.

There's a few online dealers selling Rossi 92's already in the pipeline, like Bud's Guns, - but I can't locate a source for ordering the latest production.

Closed the deal last night, praise God! Wow, as fast as they sell I'm suprised they're stopping. Not much handier than a 357 or 44 lever gun. And the 92 feels better to me than a 94.

Rangr44, I think I just picked up a twin to yours today.  The pics are gone on the sight, but mine is a 16" big loop with the saddle ring on the side.  Pretty smooth action for new.  The darn things are just like pretty girls, hard to say no to. ;D  DP

[hard to say no to]

Yep, a twin, for sure.

I was "so-so" when/after I bought the first 16" Big Loop, then really liked it much better after giving her a test drive.   :P   :P

So much that, when I tripped across the second one two weeks later when shopping for ammo, at $150 less, I went for bigomy.   ;)   ;D

Sorry the pics dumped - a whole page "mysteriously" disappeared from my photobucket account.  Go figure. (But..... you get what you pay for   ;D )
