red dot on 15 inch 30-06

I was going to try a red dot on my 06 and was needing to know at  what distains do you recommend to sight it in at? I usually sight every thing in a 100 but thought with a red dot this might not be so good because the dot at a hundred is around 3 inches or so. Would 50 be better and if so should i be a little low to allow for the bullet rise at 100?

I have a Holosight, a Bushnell dot and a Truglo 2 power red dot, I sight in at 100 yrds, no problem   with the dot looking too large.
