When you shoot buck shot

Should you take the choke out of the 14" 410 barrel when you shoot buckshot.  I bought 10 #4 buckshot at the gun show yesterday and shot one at a 12" square box from 20 yards.  They say they have 5 shot in each shell and none of them hit the box.  Just wondering about the threads inside the barrel when you remove the choke.

Check out Remington, Federal, and Winchester. They have different recommendations for buckshot. I've always been told to shoot buckshot out of an open choke (cylinder, skeet, imp cyl,) something about the buckshot being to big and bouncing off each other when it goes through tighter chokes. Don't know if it's true. Works ok out of my 18.5 cylinder bore NEF.

the rifleing is causeing your problem

my  FULL  choke ithaca shoots triple aught 000  REAL tight

000 is  tighter  than  any other  size
90 feet all  will hit  side of a rerfridgerator

i also have  a nine inch  12ga....it has a tighter pattern  now  than when  18 inch

tested  with  00 buck

How long did it take for the form1 or form 4 to come back from the ATF?
I been hearing less than 4 months last year. I wonder what the wait is lately.

seems  like 4 months
but that  was years  ago

we  cut  2 inches at a time  and patterned it

they  was  very little change

it was cut 2  18 when  i got it used
an  over under....stock is cut  yet re-attachable
