Put a TASCO 3-9X40 on my 39D

Put a new TASCO 3-9X40 gloss scope/gloss rings on the Marlin....looks good....$58 shipped....sold the Luepold that had been on it for $185.

The Leupold was nice (2-7x28) but didn't like the crosshairs (thin with dot in the middle)

The TASCO has the nice 30/30 reticle (thick going to thin over target)

Well that's different Joe. A person should go with what they like. Nice 39D. I'm guessing it must have been made in 71 or 72 given the white spacer on the grip cap. Only around 16,000 of those made from what I hear.

EDIT: Changed an "I" to an "A"

I wasn't aware of how rare it was when I bought it from an elderly guy at a gunshow until I started showing it on the web.

Paid $425 out the door for it, then sold the scope for $185....so actually got the rifle for $240.... ;D

Hope your Tasco does OK by you!

Bought one a few years ago, as I wanted the higher 12X on the variable.  It also had an adjustable objective.

However, the scope just was not sharp!!!!  In no way, at no range and with no adjustment.

So that, along with a very bad trip with an early TC "classic" got me to looking for some quality.

Ended up with a Clark Custom 77/22 on which I installed a Leupold 3x9 EFR.

Great combination and great scope, clear, sharp, zero paralax when adjusted for range.

Hope the combination does well for you. enjoy!!!!!!!!!

Keep em coming!

Howdy,
I did something like that. I put a Tasco World Class 30mm 3-9x40 on a M1894 ,218 Bee. Now I have a scope with a rifle mounted underneath!
I stuck a Weaver 1-3x28 on my .41 Mag 1894 and it handles a whole lot better.
